A description of the major cities of Armenia and Georgia, including the attire of women, priests, and Armenian clergy.

The engraving was printed in 1719 in Henri Abraham Chatelain's 'History Atlas,' which includes chronicles about Georgia and Armenia. In addition to the engravings of Tbilisi and Georgian women, it also features descriptions of Tbilisi and Georgia.

Alongside engravings related to Georgia and Georgians, Chatelain’s large-format engraving features views of Trabzon, Tokat, Erzurum, and Kars, as well as sketches of Armenian clergy and civilians.

Although the engravings were printed in Amsterdam in 1719 by Henri Abraham Chatelain, the sketches are based on the voyage of Joseph Pitton de Tournefort and were created in 1701 by Claude Aubriet, the artist who accompanied Tournefort on his travels.

Color versions of the engraving included in Chatelain’s "Atlas of History" present rare examples.
